I think everyone falls victim to the "monster cables are greater than everything" bs at least one time in their life.I purchased a no name splitter for about $1.00 and had better performance. I'm not impressed.
Removed about 80% of the static I had. Used this product with motorola powered signal booster and it worked good.
The (1GHz) splitter I'd been using for 10 years performs better (doesn't pixelate) so I switched back to it and will never use the Monster. I ordered it (1GHz) NEW through "Electronic Express". Amazon is awesome but Electronic Express has seen the last of my business. It's not cost effective to return it but it was $$$ well spent to verify the common theory that "Monster" gets a premium price for poor quality products. It had been repackaged into a container for a 2GHz splitter with Scotch tape. I don't know if it was used but it wasn't "new in box" (See customer images).
I noticed no signal loss. I now have the internet cable and the TV cable coming from the same spot and the signal still strong. Great splitter. I bought this Monter Cable SS2RF Splitter, to split my comcast cable. It worked liked magic.
For the long haul these splitters are worth the money. The ones the cable companies uses will corrode and rust after a few years worth of use.I used mine to split one to a cable modem and the other to the living room tv.For analog, digital and internet these are worth the few dollars extra in the long run.
